The Great Gatsby      There are various kinds of individuals in this world. Aside from physical highlights, it is the qualities of an individual that makes him/her unique. Scratch Carraway the storyteller of The Great Gatsby, has characteristics which are the direct inverse of those of Tom Buchanan, his cousin-in-law. In the novel, the creator, F. Scott Fitzgerald, utilizes the examination between two cousins to show how their contrasting attributes mirrors the subjects of profound quality and reality versus figment.      One of Nick’s Characteristics, that is contradictory with Toms is that Nick is mindful when talking.
